Rishi Sunak
Rishi Sunak is a British politician who served as the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 2022 to 2024. He was born in Southampton, England, in 1980 to parents of Indian descent. Before entering politics, he had a very successful career in the finance industry, working for large investment firms and businesses. He first became a Member of Parliament in 2015 and later held senior roles in the government, including Chancellor of the Exchequer, where he was responsible for managing the country’s money. In 2022, he became the leader of the Conservative Party and the UK's first prime minister of South Asian heritage, as well as the first Hindu to hold the office. During his time as prime minister, he focused on managing the economy and navigating difficult global challenges. After his party lost the 2024 general election, he stepped down as prime minister and later served as the leader of the opposition party in Parliament.
