Larry Sanger is an American internet project developer who is best known as the co-founder of Wikipedia alongside Jimmy Wales. He was born on 16 July 1968 in Bellevue, Washington. Sanger earned a doctorate in philosophy from Ohio State University, and his academic background in knowledge organisation heavily influenced his early ideas about how an online encyclopedia should be built.
