Justin Trudeau

Justin Trudeau is a Canadian politician who served as the 23rd prime minister of Canada from 2015 to 2025. He was born in Ottawa in 1971 and is the son of Pierre Trudeau, who was also a Canadian prime minister. Before entering politics, he worked as a teacher. He became the leader of the Liberal Party in 2013 and led his party to a national election victory in 2015. During his time in office, his government focused on policies like legalizing recreational cannabis, introducing a national carbon tax, and implementing a $10-a-day child care program. Following a period of declining support and a political crisis in late 2024, he announced his resignation in early 2025. He stepped down as party leader and prime minister in March 2025 and is no longer serving in the Canadian Parliament.
