Japan-China Relations
The People's Republic of China (PRC) is a socialist state founded by the Communist Party of China in 1949. It is located on the eastern coast of the Eurasian continent in East Asia, and the mainland part of the country is also called "Mainland China". Its capital is Beijing.
It borders the Democratic People 's Republic of Korea (North Korea), Russia, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Nepal, Bhutan, Myanmar, Laos, and Vietnam. It also borders Japan and the Republic of Korea (South Korea) across the East China Sea. According to the Guinness Book of World Records, it is the country with the most borders with other countries.
In addition to the Han Chinese, who make up 94% of the population, China is a multi- ethnic country with 55 government-recognized ethnic minorities, including the Zhuang, Uighur, Mongolian, Tibetan, Hui, Miao, Yi, Tujia, and Manchu.
