Célestin Freinet

Célestin Freinet was a French pedagogue born on the 15th of october 1896 in Gars, small town in the mountains of the Alpes-Maritimes in France, and who died on the 8th of october 1966.

Made teacher at the school of the small village of Le Bar sur Loup in 1920, he began to develop a new teaching method consisting in letting his students write newspaper articles, replacing the usual school books.
