ABBA are a Swedish pop supergroup formed in Stockholm in 1972. The members were Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson, and Anni-Frid Lyngstad. They are one of the most commercially successful acts in the history of popular music, topping the charts worldwide from 1974 to 1982. The group gained international fame after winning the Eurovision Song Contest in 1974 with their song "Waterloo." They are renowned for their catchy melodies, sophisticated harmonies, and polished production. Their biggest hits include "Dancing Queen," "Mamma Mia," "Take a Chance on Me," and "The Winner Takes It All." The group’s personal lives, including the marriages and subsequent divorces of the two couples within the band, often influenced their emotional songwriting. After they stopped recording together in 1982, their popularity continued to grow, aided by the success of the Mamma Mia! musical and films. In 2021, they released their first studio album in 40 years, titled Voyage, which accompanied a ground-breaking virtual concert residency in London featuring digital versions of the members known as "ABBAtars." As of June 2026, the ABBA Voyage show continues to perform to sold-out audiences in London, and the group remains a global cultural phenomenon.
