Cloud Gate

Cloud Gate is a famous public sculpture located in Millennium Park in Chicago, Illinois. Unveiled in 2006, it is widely known by its nickname, "The Bean," because of its smooth, curved shape. Designed by British artist Anish Kapoor, the sculpture is made of 168 stainless steel plates welded together and polished to a perfect, seamless finish. It stands 10 metres high and is 20 metres long, acting like a giant, distorted mirror that reflects the city’s skyline and the people walking around it. Visitors love to walk underneath the centre of the sculpture, where they can see unique, curved reflections of themselves and the surrounding buildings. It has become one of the most recognisable landmarks in Chicago and a favourite spot for tourists and locals to take photos.
