An incandescent lamp is a lamp that gives light through a filament. This wire becomes very hot, causing it to give light. This was invented by Thomas Edison in 1879 it was the second lamp after the oil lamp that existed. Most light bulbs have a thread of tungsten, a chemically metallic formula. In addition to Edison, the Russian Alexander Lodygin and especially the Englishman Joseph Swan are also mentioned as the inventor of the light bulb. In 2012, the light bulb was no longer allowed to be sold. Only wholesalers that are large stores that buy a lot of things at the same time they can still sell them. But eventually the light bulb will disappear forever, not only in stores but also in homes because they are so bad for the environment.

Invention

It is not clear who invented the light bulb but these are the people who may have done it. The British Humphry Davy experimented with the light bulb as las 1801. The Russian Alexander Lodygin in 1872. The Englishman Joseph Swan is mentioned as the inventor of the light bulb he started in 1878. On July 24, 1874, it was suspected in Canada that the light bulb was invented by Henry Woodward and Mathew Evans. The light output of the initial carbon filament lamps was so low that, especially German, scientists went in search of better filaments. For example, Carl Auer von Welsbach used filaments of osmium (a blue type of metal) in 1902, while Otto Feuerlein and Werner von Bolton used tantalum (a type of metal). It was the American William David Coolidge who managed to make filaments in 1910. One story is that Heinrich Göbel from Germany had invented the first light bulb in 1854.
